I took time researching different organic brand bed sheets. Looking for GOTS and Fair-trade certified before deciding on Looma.
These sheets are the perfect blend of soft sateen with a touch of crisp percale feel. I ordered the “slate” color sheet set. The color is as pictured. (See my photo of slate color beside darker tan bed blanket for reference). They have a “slight” sheen on one side. This sheen is expected with this fabric and weave. These sheets don’t trap heat. They feel substantially well made. There’s no odor to the sheets.
The sheet set arrived in a nice box, the sheets come inside an organic cotton bag (no plastic used). Included ~a thank you letter from Looma, tags certifying 100% organic/GOTS/Fairtrade and instructions for care/laundering. (I also verified authenticity online). These sheets are 300 thread count, single spun long staple Himalayan cotton (noted on included letter and tags). ~ I’ve posted 6 photos for the box, letter, tags and sheets.
Helpful Info (by no means an expert but, what I’ve learned)~
When comparing organic sheets, I learned to look at the thread ply/quality, ply count, weave (to determine feel) and verify that no chemicals were used (found online via certification).
Thinner thread— decreases the durability of the sheets.
Thread Ply count— multiple ply counts and, lower quality threads can feel rougher against the skin. Not all organic sheets are created equal.
Weave- this determines the look and feel of the organic sheets…
